Where Media, Peace and Security Meet.

The Media, Peace and Security Initiative (MPSI) builds the platforms, partnerships, and professional capacity needed to prevent conflict by strengthening the relationship between those who report on it and those who respond to it.

The Initiative

A structured platform for those who shape the information and security environment.

The Media, Peace & Security Initiative provides a structured platform for media practitioners, security actors, public institutions, peacebuilding organizations and researchers to engage on the role of information and communication in preventing conflict, protecting peace and strengthening responsible public discourse.

MPSI is a joint initiative led by KCC Advisory in partnership with the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), building a more informed, collaborative and resilient conflict prevention ecosystem.

About MPSI

What we do

Three pillars of impact

Build Capacity

Training journalists and media practitioners in peace journalism, conflict-sensitive reporting, and early warning — equipping them to report responsibly on security, elections, and emerging tensions.

Bridge Institutions

Convening media, security institutions, and policymakers in structured multi-stakeholder dialogues that strengthen relationships, reduce mistrust, and produce joint conflict prevention commitments.

Strengthen Systems

Contributing to Africa's early warning and preventive diplomacy architecture by positioning media as a strategic partner — not a bystander — in peace and security frameworks.

Conflict prevention requires everyone at the table — including the media.

Peace and security cannot be achieved without a media sector that understands its role, and a security sector that engages with media as a partner. Together, we are building that bridge.
